Apparently, while researching Trithemius and angelic magic it appears that the Stenographia is a cryptic code - not an occult manual at all!
It was disguised as an occult manual by Trithemius but utilises a cryptic code that someone has taken the pains to decipher. Ramon Llull also employed codes within his magical system, one that was later taken up by Trithemius and much later by G.I. Gurdjieff in his work and study groups.

I'm running on the supposition that the enochian system is a code system, as John Dee was, like Cornelius Agrippa, known as a spy, or purveyor of information from far away. Agrippa was of course a student of Trithemius, who wrote 3 books on code, entitled "Steganographia" , disguised as a grimoire/demonologia. John Dee as we know, went to great trouble and expense to obtain a copy of this work, so it would be no surprise if the "Book of Soyga", or the enochian tablets, were similarly cryptographic texts, misleadingly disguised as magical works.

Has anyone here got any ideas on this?
